Exciting new AI arrival

We were extremely excited to welcome the arrival of a healthy grey colt on Christmas morning. His name: Camdeboo D, named after the beautiful mountain range that surrounds the Davenport Stud.

He has an illustrious pedigree - he is by the Cantus son Catango Z, the stallion that Jos Lansink said jumped like a rubber ball. He was retired due to injury afer he jumped the light international circuit in Arhem, Hickstead and Monterry.

Catango Z’s  pedigree includes celebrities such as Cantus, Heureka, Capitol 1, Calypso 1, Caletto 1, Alme Z and Ladykiller.

Tthe female line of Catango Z produced great names like Fra Diavolo, Accord 1 & 11, Burgraaf and others.

Catango’s dam Zita is a daughter of the Int showjumper Heureka’s son, Ahorn Z, the full brother of Ratina’s dam Argentina Z. Zita is also full sister to the stallions Acobat 1 & 11. They are all out of the Capitol daughter Zschita.

Zschita is out of the famous mare Oruna who caused a sensation in the international showjumping arena.

Oruna who jumped by the name of Grafin, was a full sister to the mare Ribecka, the dam of the famous German stallions Accord 1& 11.

Camdeboo D is out of the Carthago/Dolerit mare Countessa D. In 2009, Carthago Z  literally jumped into 3rd spot as showjumping sire from nowhere, ahead of great stallions like Clinton, Cassini, Stakkato and Baloubet du Rouet.

Countessa’s dam is the Dolerit mare Buche Onduno who comes from the great Garbade B line. 

Dolerit produced the 1984 SA Derby winner Billy Onduno and 25 years later he has sired the dam of the 2009 SA Derby winner, A New Era ridden by Jade Hook. And as if to prove a point he produced the dam of the horse to come 3rd, Midgard Glamour.
